A Success

Our yard sale started at 7 am yesterday morning and cars were already parked outside of our house at 6:30.  My stepdad buys storage units so all of this was not our junk.  This was our first sale and we really didn't know what to expect.  Lee fired up the coffee pot and we headed outside.  It was a bit chilly for October in Alabama but it quickly warmed up.  There are some hard core shoppers out there.  All but 2 out of the 16 cars we had bought something.  There was the cutest kid who desperately wanted this Darth Vador mask and he kept trying it on and pushing the buttons on the mask.  He then proceeded to cry for quite a while when his grandmother wouldn't let him have it.  Poor thing.  But all in all it turned out really well and we made just over $160.  It was in our garage so everything is separated on tables so we really didn't have to clean up much.  Maybe we'll have another one soon.

Challenge Day 21

For some weird reason my phone thought it was next week and the time changed.  Granted today was Sunday and I knew I was going to sleep late due to the 2 hours of sleep I got the night before.  So Happy Halloween everyone and I also want to say Happy Birthday to my mom!  We are going to dinner tonight at Outback...cheesefries woohoo!  Anywho on to today's challenge at Katie's

A Picture of Myself

This is from our trip to Savannah.  We were taking goofy pictures in one of the candy stores on Market Street.  We had such a fun time there!

Challenge Day 20-Nicknames

Today was yard sale today and to say that i was exhausted would be putting it mildly.  I'm running on fumes and coffee right now and my muscles ache so much.  We were up until 3:30 am getting everything ready in the garage....and we were up at 6:00.  More on that later....Today's challenge at Katie's is Nicknames.  I have a few.

My mom calls me Scooter, some people call me Kare (pronounced Care), some call me Care Bear, and some people just call me Kari.  There's not much you can shorten that too.  I will answer to any of these.  Now I'm off to the grocery store to get snacks for the ballgame tonight.  I hope to take a nap before our friends arrive.

Fill in the Blank Friday

Here is another fun blog survey at Living, Learning, Loving and The Little Things We Do.  It's Fill in the Blank Friday.

{1}:   My Halloween plans this year will include having a yard sale tomorrow, having people over for the Auburn game, and then Sunday is my mom's birthday and church.
{2}:   My most memorable Halloween costume was when I was at a halloween party a few years ago and wore this cute 50s dress.  It caught on fire.

{3}:  For Halloween this year I'm going to be an Auburn fan at my house.

{4}:   I've always wanted to dress up as a flapper.

{5}:   Halloween free association!  candy corn and more candy corn, scary movies, lots of candy, cute costumes.

{6}:   The worst thing about Halloween is when kids try to beat down your door only to find they are a teenager with a pillow case putting in your face to hand them candy while talking on their cell phone.

{7}:   The best thing about Halloween is the scary movies and lots of candy corn to make you sick.

Challenge Day 19-Something I Miss

TGIF!  It is getting very hard to get up in the morning now b/c the temperature is defnitely dropping.  It's Day 19 at Katie's.

Something I Miss

I miss being a kid without a care in the world.  Waking up on Saturday morning and the only worry you had was which cartoon you were going to watch.  And you had to pick one b/c there wasn't a DVR you could record all of them on.  Not having to worry about money.  Not wishing the days away during a 2ww (for girls trying to get pregnant you know what I mean).  Just being a kid and going to slumber parties to play Dream Phone or Truth or Dare.  Those were such fun days.  Now don't get me wrong.  I love my life but sometimes it's nice to think about being a kid again.  I also miss "Bobbie" my grandmother.  Not really sure why I picked that name for her...(I call my grandfather Papa Roach-his nickname was Roach in highschool and still is.  He thought is was really funny that a band was named after him) Anyway, Bobbie died when I was just 8.  I loved going to her house and daring to enter the Green Slime room (which was her basement).  If she cought me going down there she would always tell me the Green Slime was going to get me. I remember us playing Chinese checkers for hours and me begging always to spend the night at her house.  She was such a sweet grandmother and is greatly missed.

Challenge Day 18- Something I Regret

Wow it's been a long day.  This weekend is our yardsale and this afternoon was spent cleaning out closets.  Wow I didn't realize I had so many clothes I don't wear.  The hubs is out in the garage trying to get everything organized.  Luckily we still have tomorrow night to get everything ready.  Now on to today's challenge at Katie's.  This is going to sound really cliche but I don't really have any regrets.  I'm a firm believer that everything happens for a reason and every decision I've made led me to where I am today.  Sorry guys but no regrets here.  What are we gonna do when this challenge is over? :(

What I'm Loving Wednesday

It's time for What I'm Loving Wednesday.  Go link up with Jaime and tell us what you're loving today.

I'm loving the weather here.  We definitely needed the rain.

I'm loving my hubs and am very proud of him.  He coached baseball for 10-11 year olds and last night was there last game.  It was also their only win.  Bless his heart.  He always comes home after the games and tells me how good the kids are doing though.  He'll make a great dad.

I'm loving that we get paid 3 times this month instead of 2.  That means insurance only comes out twice!

I'm loving this soap.  It smells so good.

Challenge Day 17- Something You're Looking Forward To

I'm looking forward to:

.....HalloweenI love watching scary movies especially the older ones.  Halloween is still the scariest movie to me.  Too bad it's on a Sunday this year and I can't stay up till the wee hours of the morning with my hands covering my eyes.  It's also my mom's birthday.

.....our Yard Sale.  The hubs took out an ad in the paper yesterday so we will be up early Saturday morning.  Tomorrow I am cleaning out my closet to see what I want to sell (that part I'm not looking forward to).  This will start our Disney World fund (although the hubs says it's going to pay off credit card...that's no fun though).

.....a relaxing weekendAlthough our yard sale will be exhausting, it only lasts until noon and after that we can just relax.  Auburn is in Oxford this weekend playing Ole Miss so we will be at home and not in a football stadium all day.  I'm thinking of making Rotel dip, Buffalo chicken dip and maybe some halloween goodies.

.....Thanksgiving.  I love all the good food this holiday.  I make a corn casserole and macoroni and cheese every year.  Getting together with family is just so much fun.  To the ones you haven't seen in a while, you can just pick back up where you left off.  The weather is just perfect and of course a lot of football watching.  The Iron Bowl is the day after Thanksgiving again this year.  I volunteered to work 4 hours that day (since a lot of people including myself requested off but maybe I'll get on the boss's good side by doing this....she really is a great boss though).  I guess I won't be doing the Black Friday shopping, although our TV we have came from a Black Friday deal...not by me; I chose to sleep while the hubs camped out at Target and snagged a great deal.  He was the 1st one in the door.

..... moving up. Hopefully soon I will be a level III Medical Transcriptionist.  That is the highest you can go.  I will be paid by the line instead of hourly so blogging during the day might have to be toned down a little:)  With that comes a 15% raise.  I am a level II right now but moving along.

..... Christmas. My favorite holiday.  Decorating the house and Christmas shopping, the food, the songs, the hot chocolate, family, giving gifts and I'm not going to lie...receiving them.  Less than 2 months away!

Link up with Katie and let us know what you're looking forward to!

Zumba #2

Today marks the 2nd week of Zumba.  It was a very windy day but the class was still held right on top of the hospital parking deck.  Me and Lisa bumped into eachother quite a few times.  I swear if this thing was being video'd then you would all be laughing right now.  The work out is so face paced.  I took dance from the age of 5 until my senior year of highschool.  I am so uncoordinated now, it's not even funny.  But that's the fun thing about this....noone is.  Everyone is just out there to exercise and a free class is definitely a motivation.  I got a great workout tonight but decided to go by the grocery store on my way home for Halloween candy for the trick-or-treaters but what do I do?  I couldn't pass the freezer isle without getting this:

Lisa and I last week before our 1st week of Zumba.  We didn't know what we were getting into :)

Meet Me on Monday

Here are the Monday questions from What Would Jen Do?

1.  Do you sleep with a night light on?
No.  I have to have all the lights off to fall asleep.

2.  What do you drink with dinner?
Either water or minute maid fruit juice.

3.  Do you play the lottery?  If so, how often?
     No.

4.  How often do you go to the grocery store?
Sunday is our grocery store day so most of the time just
     once a week.

5.  Would you rather travel back in time 500 years or travel forward 500 years?
Forward...it would be neat to see what new technology the
world has come up with and see if it's really like The Jetsons.

Day 15- Bible Verse

It is pouring here in Alabama on this gloomy Monday morning....but we definitely needed this.  It's Challenge day 15 at Katie's blog.  Here is my favorite bible verse:

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;

in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight."
Proverbs 3:5-6

Q & A

I found this on My Life in the Making's blog.

So if you're bored ask away!

War Eagle!

This was a big weekend for the Auburn Tigers.  Saturday morning I had to work and then it was off to Auburn for another hot day-it was a 2:30 game.  It was another nail biter but Auburn pulled off another win against LSU.  War Eagle!

Waiting for Tiger Walk to start

The fans went wild at the end of the game

Me cutting Lee's head off

That's better.

War Eagle!

K and I having our traditional Sunday after the game lunch.  We wanted to go to Niffers (their corn nuggets are amaaaaazing!) but they were already packed by 11:00 and I had to work this afternoon at 1:00 so we went to Chile's instead.

Lee and Dallas are hoping that Auburn will be #1 now.

I'm Tagged!

My new sweet Auburn friend Amy tagged me!  Here's how it works: I answer the 8 questions that Amy asked me, then I come up with 8 questions of my own and then tag 8 of YOU to answer MY questions. Here we go:

1.  Why did you start blogging? What is your favorite part about blogging?
I came across someone's blog through facebook and thought it looked like fun.  I love the surveys and getting to know everyone.  It is very therapeutic just to type what you are feeling and fun to go back and read your blog.

2.  Have you met any bloggers in real life? If so, who? Share the story with us!
No but maybe one day....I would love to.

3.  Do you like to cook? If so, what is your favorite recipe?
I do enjoy cooking...most of the time:)  My favorite thing to make is Taco Soup b/c it's so easy and very good in the Fall and Winter.  Here is the recipe.

4.   What is on your Christmas List this year?
I will admit that I give my parents and in-laws my Amazon wish list every year.  They request it every Christmas and say it makes it easier for them.  I feel like a kid again:)  This year I'm not really sure.  We want to replace the carpet in our living room with hardwood flooring and take a trip to DisneyWorld.  I'm sure I'll come up with something else soon!

5.  What is your favorite childhood memory?
I have a lot of really good childhood memories but one that sticks out is the night before our family would leave for DisneyWorld.  My sister and stepbrother would put our sleeping bags in the living room and make a fort (b/c we def couldn't sleep) and just stay up all night so excited about the next week.

6.  What is the sweetest thing that your husband/boyfriend/fiancé has ever done for you?
I  had to have surgery last month and the hubs was such a good caretaker.  For my 1st shower postop he stayed in the bathroom and just waited on me to get out in case I fell and just talked to me (it was after my ectopic pregnancy and sometimes I would just cry at the drop of a hat...especially in the shower for some reason).

7.  If you had $100,000 cash what would you do with it?
I would pay off our debt, donate to charity, give to Humane Society (Mason lived there when he was a baby) , and if we had to go that route I would adopt.

8.   If you could be any appliance in a kitchen, what would you be and why?! :)Hmmmm....I would have to say a refridgerator so I could keep everything fresh and nothing would spoil (that sounds really dorky)

Okay so now for my questions:
1.  If you could be in any tv show when you were a kid what would it be?
2.  What has been your favorite Christmas gift as a child?
3.  What actress would you want to play you if your life was a movie?
4.  What decade fad do you wish would come back?
5.  What song describes your life?
6.  What was your favorite subject in school?
7.  If you could have a dream job for a day what would it be?
8.  If you could be any animal what would you be and why?

And I'm Tagging....

Five Question Friday

1. Who is the better cook, you or your spouse? My spouse definitely.  He loves to cook and I am certainly okay with that!

2. How often do you talk to your mom?Everyday, multiple times a day:)

3. Are you adventurous in the kitchen or stick to the recipe?I usually stick to the recipe.  Now the hubs on the other hand loves to just make something up in the kitchen and it always turns out great.  I'm afraid if I didn't follow the recipe then it would be awful.

Yes just a little longer

5. Do you dress up for Halloween? (Bonus question: What will you be this year?)
Sometimes if I am going to a Halloween party.  If I do go to one I am thinking about Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz.

Day 10- Something I am Afraid Of

Today's challenge over at Katie's blog is Something you're afraid of....there are a few things:

1.  I have a fear of Lee dying.  It's gotten better but it used to be really bad.  A friend of mine's husband died in a car accident not long after they were married.  I was so paranoid that Lee was going to die to and it was a time he didn't have a cell phone so if I couldn't get in touch with him then I would panic...it wasn't pretty.  It's gotten better but in the back of my head I still think about it when I can't get in touch with him.

2.  I have a fear of never being a mom.  I haven't talked about it on the blog yet but this all can't be happy all the time right?  I have been pregnant twice.  The 1st time was last year and I m/c.  The 2nd time was last month.  I was on Clomid and got pregnant the 1st cycle using it but then found out the baby was in my right tube and I had to have surgery.  They saved my tube but I have an increased chance of having another one. I so very badly want to be a mom and I'm realizing I'm 30 now...I'm no longer in my 20s.  My fertility rate is going down......BUT I know that  GOD has a plan for me and it will happen in his time...not mine:)

Day 9- My Friends

This is at Amy's wedding.  We met in dance class when we were little and got to be good friends after working together.  We then lived together for a few years and had the best time!

Jen, Amy, Julie, and me.  I became friends
with thesegirls through Amy.  This is at Amy's baby
                       shower last year.

K or Katherine and I became good friends through our hubs.  They are both finatics when it comes to baseball and they drive us crazy!  This is a pic of us in Kiawa Island at the most expensive golf course.  We were just having lunch there.  No golfing for us!

Top 2 Favorite Old Pics

I love going through old pictures.  When Lee and I first started dating and he was taking me home to meet mom, he told me his mother really didn't have any pictures of him and that they didn't own a camera.  So of course when I got there, his mom pulled out the numerous albums of pics she had of him. I just sat there for hours and looked at them giggling at quite a few.  Here are a few (okay so I changed it to Top Few Tuesday) favorite old pics of mine:

I love Easter.  And yes I still love hunting eggs and yes I still get a basket with candy from the in-laws:)

Still hunting eggs and sporting Rainbow Brite and Jelly shoes.

I was the first girl so of course I had to dress up in these crazy outfits...bonnet and all.

I still make this face when I want something.

I love Disneyworld!

One of my favs of Lee!

One of our first pics together.

Day 8-A Place I have Traveled To

I am no world traveler.  In fact my first time flying was on our honeymoon to St. Lucia.  We actually missed our flight down there...stuipd kiasc but ended up getting to stay an extra day.  We stayed at the Sandals resort in St. Lucia and everything was inclusive.  The weather was gorgeous and a week was certainly not enough.  I would love to go back one day!

Beautiful view!

We loved the swim-up bar

Taking a tour of the island

Enjoying the breakfast buffet.  I think we gained quite a few pounds on this trip.
