Happy Black Friday

What a great day!  I slept late and watched a great football game.  It came down to the wire and that's how it's been for Auburn most of the season.  Now onto the SEC championship.  War Eagle!  I will try some shopping tomorrow and start decorating for Christmas.  Can't wait!

It's snowing at Toomer's Corner!

It's great to be an Auburn tiger!

Happy Thanksgiving

Today was a great Thanksgiving.  Of course the morning started off with The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, cinammon rolls, just relaxing, spending time with family, and eating lots of yummy food and I mean lots.  Here was the menu:  Turkey, turkey and dressing, corn casserole, green beans, potato casserole, rolls, cherry pie, and pumpkin butter cake.  I don't want to brag or anything but everyone loved the cake.  I usually am not too good at baking but this was really good.  It's already been requested for Christmas.  I think I can handle that!  We also got our Christmas card pic for Shutterfly.  I just placed my order.  I hope everyone has had a great Thanksgiving!

Chocolate on our nightstand courtesy of the in-laws.  Of course I packed some for the ride home!

Lee did a lot of this...

and took a break so I could get a goofy pic

As you can see he was thrilled.

Why I love coming to visit the hubs' parents.

Happy Thanksgiving!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Happy Thanksgiving Eve girls!  Here's what I'm loving this Wednesday:  Go link up with Jamie.

I'm loving that in less than 30 minutes I will be off work for 4 days!

I'm loving that I baked my cake during my lunch hour of only 30 minutes.   That resulted in me putting tablespoons of vanilla, cinammon, and nutmeg instead of teaspoons but it looks pretty and the batter tasts yummy.

I'm loving that we are going to Lee's parents tonight.  They always leave chocolate on our pillows like a hotel.  They also put a basket of chocolate on the nightstand.

I'm loving that I will eat a lot of yummy food tomorrow.

I'm loving that we are going to attempt a Christmas card picture tomorrow.  I hope the weather is not yucky.

Miscellany Monday

I'm actually glad it's Monday b/c that means my weekend of working is over and only 1 more day until I will gladly hand over the beeper to the next girl on call.  This is my favorite post b/c I can talk about anything I want.

{one}  I'm still trying to catch up on my sleep from the midnight viewing of Harry Potter the other night.  I came home from the movie and started working to get some of my hours out of the way.  I couldn't sleep late this weekend since I had to work.  You better believe I will sleep great and late Thursday through Sunday.

{two} I'm so excited to try a new recipe for Thanksgiving:  Paula Dean's Pumpkin Goey Butter Cake.  Hopefully mine will turn out like this:

{three}  I can't wait to start my Christmas shopping.  I usually wait until after Thanksgiving.  I know...I'm a procrastinator.

{four} I'm so excited about putting up our Christmas tree and decor.  We wait until the day after Thanksgiving:  Football and putting up the tree.

{five}  Tonight is the DWTS finale.  I'm rooting for either Jennifer or Kyle.

Weekend of Working

I had to work this weekend.  And I've had the beeper all week which means I can't go anywhere.  So what does the hubby do to make me smile?  He goes and gets me this at Starubucks!

Fill In The Blank Friday

Go link up with Lauren for today's edition.

My Thanksgiving plans this year will include going to Lee's parents Wednesday night, having Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday, watching the Iron Bowl on Friday, and then putting up the Christmas tree.

My favorite Thanksgiving was probably all of them.  I love Thanksgiving dinner and the holiday in general.  Being able to get together with family you don't see very often and pick up right where you left off.

My signature Thanksgiving dish is corn casserole...very easy and simple but delicious and of course unhealthy.

Thanksgiving free association red, orange, and yellow leaves, turkey and dressing, leftovers, football, family.

Thansgiving is one of my favorite holidays...and it means it's that much closer to my favorite holiday.

I am thankful for a lot of things: My hubby, friends and family, my 2 furbabies, my job, my health, being able to give thanks to all of the above.

Five Question Friday

A Shutterfly Christmas

Just about all of my blogger friends have posted about the Shutterfly Christmas cards special.  The news is spreading.  They are offering 50 free cards for just blogging about it!  We've never used a photo card before.  We usually just buy some and send them out at the last minute if we remember to.  This year with this great deal (how can you pass up anything free) I am looking forward to sending out some cute Christmas cards.  Lee and I are not newlyweds so there goes a wedding picture and we don't have any human children yet so we will  probably take a nice one over Thanksgiving at his parent's house.  They have a lot of land with a lot of deer.  They (the deer) can get in the pic too if they want.  Here are some of the ones that I like. It's going to be so hard to choose though.  Go check out their website if you haven't and send out your card too. Oh and if you are reading this post I would love to get a card from you.  I'll send you my address :)

They also have calendars and canvases so you can put your photos to good use.

Have Fun!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Yeah for Hump Day.  That means 1 day down with the beeper and 6 to go.  I'm just glad someone else takes it after 11:00 every night (until 7 am).  That way I can sleep peacefully and not worry if I get hear the phone or not. Now onto What I'm Loving Wednesday.  Go link up with Jamie.

{one}

I'm loving that after today there is one week until Thanksgiving.  I can't wait to eat all the yummy food and try a new recipe.

{two}

I'm loving snacking on these during the day:

{three}

I'm loving that I did something different to a recipe and it came out so much better.  I made chicken poppyseed casserole the other night and put ritz crackers in the mix besides putting it on top before baking it and it turned out really good.

{four}

I'm loving that we are having more meals at home.  There hasn't been overtime for the past month so we are on a budget to try not and eat out as much and cook at home.

{five}

I'm loving that even though I have to work during the day this weekend, we have no plans.

I just realized 4 out 5 of what i'm loving today has to do with food

Top 2 Tuesday

Zumba is cancelled due to the probable inclement weather.  Other than being windy for a few hours today we haven't gotten any rain.  Lisa and I are still going to exercise though and walk at the track.  My body will thank me since I had icecream late last night (hence the weird dream I had).  Today at Taylor's is Top 2 Favorite Jobs.

Top 2 Favorite Jobs

1.  Medical Transcriptionist-current job.

I love my job.  I've currently been doing this since January of this year and I enjoy it every day.  It doesn't hurt that I can stay in my PJs all day and work from home.  I can turn on Pandora when I need a break or step outside for some fresh air and pet the pups.  I feel like I'm actually important and the boss tells us everyday what a great job we do.  There will not be a picture for you to see b/c I would probably break the camera as at 5:00 it looks like I just rolled out of bed.

2.  Charge clerk

I worked for a group of surgeons for 10 years!  I worked through college and just stayed on.  I met some great girls there who became my really good friends.  The doctors would send us to the beach every year to show their appreciation for us and everything was paid for...the dinners and hotel.  It felt really nice to be able to look at a menu and not worry about how much it cost.  We had a great time every year we went.  Our health insurance was also paid for as well.  I am fearful of change and that's why I didn't leave for 10 years.  I still keep up with the girls there and I do miss the human contact during the day.  I guess that's why I talk to the dogs like they know what I'm saying...but I've always done that :)

Thanks to Kit for my award!  This is my 2nd award.  I'd like to thank the Academy and all my blogger friends who read what I have to say.
Here are the rules:
*to thank the person that gave you the award....check
*to tell you 7 facts about me :)...
*give the award to 7 wonderful bloggers that I just love
*leave a comment and tell the 7 bloggers that I am giving them an award

Here are 7 facts about me.  They may be repeated from the last award I got.  Afterall, I'm not that interesting:

{one}

If I eat really late at night, especially dessert, I will have the weirdest dreams.  I will remember every single detail and sometimes I will "fly" in the dream. I remembered this b/c I ate Reese's Peanut Butter Icecream before bed last night and I had a pretty eventful dream.  It was an extension of last night's nightmare.

{two}

I tend to stutter when I get nervous and will also talk with my hands.

{three}

My 1st plane ride was on my honeymoon.  I was 25.

{four}

When I was little I loved to eat batter:  brownie batter, cake batter, and cornbread batter (i know...weird).  I still eat brownie and cake batter but not so much the cornbread batter.

{five}

I got kicked out of a 5-star restaurant in Hilton Head when I was 3 or 4 for banging silverware on the tables.  Or at least my mother told me we were asked to leave.

{six}

The 1st time I have ever made a pot of coffee was last month.

{seven}

I hosted a talk show when I was younger with my cousins.  They were just tapes of us interviewing "guests" (which was really us disguising or voices) on the show but we discussed some serious topics....like who stole who's boyfriend and what kind of makeup were were wearing or sneaking on.

Now my turn to tag 7 bloggers:

Morning Mouse

It's still a very dreary morning here.  I poured my coffee and head outside to feed the pups.  They are right by the back door b/c it's so wet and nasty in their playground.  I'm pouring food into their bowl and what do I see right beside Bella's paw?  ( I want to vomit just thinking about it)  If you guessed a dead mouse you would be correct.  I started breathing heavy and Bella just kept turning her head very confused.  I was supposed to be overjoyed that they had just killed this mouse and brought me a prize.  I'm glad you killed the mouse....it's just really gross and I have nothing to pick it up with but an old Auburn souvenir cup used to pour their food with.  I was just waiting for her to pick up the mouse after she stepped on it and I was for sure going to vomit.  I eventually scooped up the mouse in the Auburn cup dragging it on the ground to the wall outside.  Bella had her rabies shot already this year and Mason is due for his Thursday.  I feel really ashamed typing this but I have a very sensitive stomach.

Ask Me Anything

I'm pretty much stuck here at home for the rest of the week (with the exeption of Friday when my mom so graciously volunteered to take the beeper for me so I can venture out and go see Harry Potter).  Tomorrow morning I have to program the beeper to my cell phone number and home number in case the hospital needs a report typed.  The good thing is that there are people on who type in the middle of the night and they will cover call so I won't get woken up after I go to bed.  Anywho I will be bored here I'm sure so feel free to ask me anything and I will answer in another post...as if you don't know enough by all of the link ups :)

Miscellany Monday

Yeah for more link ups.  It's time for Miscellany Monday at Carissa's.

{one}

It's raining here today which is good but it was so cozy under the covers that I did not want to get out of bed.  I didn't sleep very well either b/c I had a nightmare.  It seemed like it lasted the whole night too.

{two}

Yeah for Thanksgiving next week.  I'm making a new recipe that I found at Everything Happens for A Reason and I can't wait to try it.  It's a Paula Dean recipe so we know it's very good but very unhealthy.  Hey it's Thanksgiving.  You're not supposed to be dieting.

{three}

Thanks to blog stalking The Pinklets, I have found quite a new author that I have added on to my Amazon Wish List.  Less than 6 weeks until Christmas!

{four}

My coffee with caramel-flavored Bailey's is finally kicking in.

{five}

I have the beeper this week starting tomorrow so I can't really leave the house (with the exception of Zumba if my mom will take call and for Harry Potter-yes I'm going to the midnight showing Friday morning!)

Meet Me On Monday

I'm linking up with Never Growing Old on this rainy Monday, the kind where you have to force yourself to get out of bed because it feels so cozy under the covers.

1.  Do you eat Sushi?
I tried it once and did not like it at all.  Could be b/c I don't like cucumbers and I was eating a cucumber roll.  I haven't tried it since.  The hubs on the other hand is a big fan.

2.  What kind of bath soap do you use?
Usually Dove, Ivory, or Dial.  Whatever is on sale.

3.  How often do you talk to your Mom?
Everyday, several times a day.  We "work" together.

4.  What TV shows do you watch on a regular basis?
The only show that I watch everyday is The Golden Girls and Food TV.  But I have my seasonal shows that I don't miss: American Idol, The Bachelor/Bachelorette, America's Got Talent, Dancing With The Stars, Glee, Grey's Anatomy, and Private Practice.  Thank goodness for DVR.

5.  Did you start Christmas shopping yet?
Not really.  I've got ideas.  Does that count.  I'm kind of working on Christmas presents for my mom and mother-in-law.  I'm making a cookbook/picture book on blurb.com.

My Weekend

We have had a really good weekend so far.  Friday Lee and Phillip went to the new basketball arena to watch Auburn play basketball while I hung out with Amy and this little guy.  James is such a cutie and is getting to the little boy stage.  I had so much fun playing with him.

He was giving Eyeore some loving.

Saturday Georgia came to town and Auburn won!  It was a very exciting game and I must admit I got a little nervous throughout the game but nontheless Auburn pulled out a win and will be going to the SEC championship game.  War Eagle!

Right before the game...and as usual the top part of Lee's head is cut off.

AU Wins!

Today I went to see a friend of mine at the community theatre in All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten.  It was really cute and she did great!  Now I'm about to cook Chicken Poppyseed Casserole.  I thought it was later than it was as it usually seems that way right at about 5:00 now since the time change.

Fill In the Blank Friday

TGIF!  Today was the hospital's celebration day so I got a T-shirt and a free lunch.  Our bonus checks were already direct deposited on Wednesday!!  Now on to Fill in the Blank Friday.

1.  The most spontaneous thing I've ever done was nothing really.  I'm not very spontaneous at all.

2.  The best gift I've ever received was my education paid for by my grandparents.  I even did an online med transcription course and they paid for 1/2 of it.

3.  A time I was truly and genuinely surprised was when the hubs threw me a surprise birthday for my 25th.  I really had no clue about it.  My friends took me to see The Devil Wears Prada and then I came home to the party.  He even had picked out and bough a black dress for me to wear :)

4.  I can't leave the house without my keys....j/k....my phone.  I have a droid and they are so much fun.

5.  My favorite day of the week is Saturday.  I get to sleep in and do nothing if I want to.

6.  Somthing that can always make me laugh is an episode of The Golden Girls or Friends.  They are hilarious.

7.  My perfect day would include breakfast in bed and just lounging around all day watching movies and eating junk food

What's Mine Is Yours

Normally the hubs is a very sharing person.  But in this case he certainly is not.  I found this in the pantry when I got home from Zumba last night.  He saw me walk into the den with them and his eyes got really wide.  "Those are mine" he yelled, just like a child.  I am eating a few as I type this...what he doesn't know won't hurt him right?

What I'm Loving Wednesday

The weather outside is perfect today and the pups think so too.  It's Hump Day which means it's time for What I'm Loving Wednesday with Jamie (and Jamie if you read this I realize I've been spelling your name wrong until yesterday when I noticed it... a friend of mine spells hers Jaime).

I'm loving the weather.  I know I just stated it above but right now it's 71 degrees and sunny!

I'm loving the coupons Kroger sent me in the mail.  They send you coupons for things you buy often.  So we got several cheese, sourcream, and toothpaste coupons.  And they don't expire for a while!

I'm loving  my snail mail.  I haven't had a pen pal since middle school and I think it's fun getting letters.  Do not fret snail mail sender-outer, you will get a letter soon.  I just need some cute stationery :)

I'm loving  the Domino's pizza coupon we got in the mail. They are never late with our pizza but they always send us one saying how sorry they are about the delivery time and gave us a coupon for another pizza.  You weren't late but we'll take it.

I'm loving all my blogger friends.  I've met a lot of you through Katie's 30 Day challenge.  I'm sad to see it over but don't worry, you all are still in my daily reads.

I'm loving the Bailey's Irish Cream carammel coffee creamer.  Don't worry..it's nonalcoholic.  Good thing it's not.  There's no telling what I would be typing in my reports if I were.

Ten On Tuesday

Note to self:  Eat more than Easy Mac before going to Zumba and don't forget to bring water.  I think my blood sugar took a dive and my hands were shaking by the time I left.  Luckily Lisa gave me some of her water.  I'm watching Glee and though I would play along with Jamie for Ten On Tuesday.

one:  Who makes your Thanksgiving dinner?
We go to Lee's parents on Thanksgiving and they have a turkey and a bunch of yummy sides and I will usually bring a casserole and dessert.   I love leftover Turkey sandwiches.

two:  What is your favorite recipe that includes pumpkin?
To tell you the truth, I've never had anything with pumpkin I don't think. But I am going to try this for Thanksgiving:  Easy Pumpkin Pie.  I hope it turns out yummy!

three:  What are 5 things you want for Christmas?

I just watched the show for the 1st time this weekend.  It was really good!  I was sad to see that it has been cancelled though:( There are 5 seasons and I have a lot of catching up to do.

I can't wait to read the new Nicholas Sparks book

This has been one of my favorite Disney movies.

And there's always gift cards!  I just started my list today :)

four:  Does your family draw names or do you buy for everyone?
In my immediate family we buy for everyone but in my extended family (cousins) we draw names right after Thanksgiving.

five:  How do you feel about motorcycles?
Don't like them at all.  Too scary for me.

six:  What's your favorite thing to do on a rainy Saturday?
DVR is my best friend on a rainy Saturday.  Especially if it has Lifetime movies recorded.  Then a nice nap on the couch and more Lifetime movies!

seven:  What is the coolest thing to do in your city?
I live right next to a college town so there's not too much to do unless your an Auburn fan.  Gameday on a Saturday tailgaiting on the plains is the best.  It's even better going inside the stadium to watch the Tigers play.

Auburn is pretty close to Atlanta too.

eight:  Do you paint your fingernails?
If you count clear painting my nails.  Other than that no.

nine:  Who is your favorite actor over the age of 50?
How about actress-then I'll say Meryl Streep.

ten:  Do you have a high school letter jacket?
Nope.

What I'm Thankful For

{one} My Mama
My mom and I both work from home for the hospital.  Every couple of months we have a "beeper" where we have to take call and get any reports typed if a doctor needs it stat.  She has taken call for me when I had plans and never asked me to do it for her in return.  She has worked 1/2 days for me when it was my weekend to work so I could go to the Auburn football game or next week when I'm on call she volunteered so I could go see Harry Potter.  And it's not just things for work.  She is always there for me no matter what.

{two} My Job
I am very thankful to have a job I love doing.  At 30 I finally found something that I really enjoy.  Sure I have to actually pay for insurance instead of the dollar I had to pay before for Blue Cross.  But it makes up for it in overtime.  My boss is very encouraging and she is always welcoming our ideas if we have any suggestions.  She says the only thing that could happen is it doesn't work so we will go back to the way were doing it.  She is constantly encouraging us and telling us we are doing a great job.  Even though I work from home we have a great email relationship:) I guess I should be thankful for her too.

Go link up with Taylor.  What are you thankful for?

Miscellany Monday

I'm linking up with Carissa at Miscellany Monday.  I've got to post about something since the Blog Challenge is almost done.

{one}  I am glad that due to the time change I got an extra hour of sleep this morning but I definitely do not like it getting dark at 5:00.

{two} I got a belated birthday gift card to Old Navy and bought a pair of jeans and a cute top.  I had to go up in a jean size.  I've been eating horribly lately.

{three} Due to #1 and #2, I have started my 10-minute exercise DVD.  I had to make myself do it, but it will definitely be worth it soon.  The Zumba on Tuesdays is a lot of fun too but I need to exercise more than once a week.

{four} My friend Amy told me about Frugal Coupon Living and it is the coolest website if you're hunting for discounts or deals.  It updates constantly.

{five} I am excited for this next week:
